NSTI Mumbai Revamps Facilities and Strengthens Industry Collaboration

with Five MoUs to Boost Skill Development

The National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), a premier skills training and development institute with a 60-year-old legacy has revamped its facility and renovated the infrastructure and facilities, augmenting its capacity to deliver excellence in skill development and instructor training. The investment includes acquiring new machinery funded through the World Bank’s STRIVE project.

The inauguration of NSTI Mumbai’s revamped facilities also witnessed the signing of five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and contracts with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Mumbai (BARC), Informatics E-Tech (India) Ltd., Thane with NSTI for Women, Technocraft, Amaravati with NSTI for Women, Dadar, Mumbai and Directorate of Vocational Education & Training, (DVET), Maharashtra Government. These agreements will enable NSTI Mumbai to further cement its leadership in skill-based education and enhance its ability to deliver specialized training and cutting-edge skill development programs.

Speaking at the inauguration of the revamped facilities, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Honourable Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Minister of State, Ministry of Education,Government of India,underlined the significance of the development and said,“It is quite heartening to see a 60-year-old institution refurbished with the upgradation of its building, new machineries for training, as well as our partners TATA, setting up their TATA Indian Institute of Skill in NSTI's campus.” 

“NSTI Mumbai’s transformation marks a significant milestone in our mission to empower youth with industry-relevant skills. By upgrading our facilities and forging new partnerships with leading institutions, we are not only enhancing the quality of training but also ensuring that our trainees are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce. Skilling must become a movement that inspires aspirations across all levels of education, enabling our youth to achieve their fullest potential," he further added. 

As part of its facilities revamp, NSTI has invested in new equipment for the Welder, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, and Turner sections, clearly underscoring its continued commitment to imparting world-class training in the latest technology and tools.
