NxtWave empowers students from 2500+ colleges across India with Ethical Hacking Workshop
In an era defined by rapid technological advancement, NxtWave, a leading upskilling platform for software careers, successfully organised a virtual workshop titled "Ethical Hacking - Building India's Cyber Army” to equip aspiring tech students with essential cybersecurity skills. The workshop received an overwhelming response with participation of students from 2500+ colleges across India.
Ethical hacking, a crucial field in the realm of cybersecurity, is gaining prominence as organizations worldwide seek to protect their digital assets from cyber threats. With the increasing frequency and complexity of cyberattacks, the demand for skilled ethical hackers is on the rise. This workshop aimed to provide students with hands-on experience and industry insights to prepare them for the challenges of the cybersecurity landscape.
During the three-hour-long intensive workshop, students had the opportunity to customize their own OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) Tool Kits and perform cyber investigations. They learned to use a range of hacking tools, including Spiderfoot, Maltego, EXIF Tool, Epios, SE Toolkit, Haveibeenpawned, and Kali Linux. Industry expert and founder of CyberEye, Mr. Ram Ganesh, shared valuable insights, live demonstrations and case studies covering topics such as Stuxnet, Wannacry, Geo OSINT, Google Dorking, and cyber fraud.
Live demonstrations included OSINT techniques, digital footprinting, and social engineering. Thousands of students enthusiastically submitted their projects, showcasing their newfound skills and knowledge.
One of the enthusiastic participants, Yaswanth, shared his workshop experience, saying, "Cybersecurity isn't just theory; it's real-world readiness. Through this workshop, I've gained the practical skills to track hackers and investigate cyber incidents. It has also prepared me to be a defender in the world of cyberattacks."
